about EnviroArc®

EnviroArc® Technologies AS provides leading solutions for material and energy recovery, addressing the worldwide market for more effective and environmental-friendly waste treatment systems. Based on unique and patented technologies, we design, commission and operate commercially attractive plants that treat all sorts of waste.

Vision
Our vision is to become the centre of excellence and a global leader in effective, environmentally-friendly waste treatment.

Technologies
EnviroArc® owns exclusive license rights for the globally patented technologies PyroArcâ and VitroArcâ, which decomposes all organic material into molecules and atoms, recover valuable metals and vitrify the rest. The technologies have been developed and are owned by ScanArc Plasma Technologies. They are based on the Plasma Generator core technology originally developed by the Swedish Group SKF, through an extensive development and commercialisation program over more than 15 years.

History
EnviroArc’s origins go back to 1991, when the Norway-based industrial corporation Kvaerner initiated an ambitious 20 million Euro development program for the commercialisation of the PyroArc and VitroArc technologies, in cooperation with ScanArc. In 1999, following financial difficulties and a concentration on core business, Kvaerner decided to stop activities in this area. A limited number of key personnel acquired a licence agreement from ScanArc, acquired all files from Kvaerner and established EnviroArc® Technologies. The company headquarters are in Oslo, Norway.

Plants in operation
EnviroArc® delivered its first commercial PyroArc plant in 2001 – a turn-key plant for the treatment of tannery waste, at Osterøy near Bergen, Norway. In addition to design and implementation, EnviroArc® provides operational support and service through its operations centre. In addition to the operational experience achieved at Osterøy, much of EnviroArc’s knowledge is based on results achieved in ScanArc’s pilot plant. The ScanDust plant in Landskrona, Sweden has many years of experience with a similar plasma generator system applied in both the PyroArc and the VitroArc processes.

Partners
EnviroArc® cooperates closely with ScanArc Plasma Technologies AB (Sweden), and uses their resources and facilities as a R&D development centre. We also have a close cooperation with leading technology research and academic institutions in Scandinavia, such as SINTEF and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Management
The management and employees of EnviroArc® are all highly qualified, with extensive experience from the industry and research institutions.
