Borge Garveri
At Borge Garveri, one of Scandinavias top tanneries producing 600 hides a day, EnviroArc has built a PyroArc plant. The plant represents a permanent solution for treatment of all waste materials from the tannery.

The PyroArc plant receives the following waste material from the tannery:
· Sludge from the water treatment plant
· Fleshing
· Shavings
· Trimmings
· Pallets
· Plastic containers
· Industrial waste
Borge Garveri

The sludge, fleshing, shavings and trimmings are delivered to the PyroArc plant without any pre-treatment. The sludge, shavings and trimmings are received at the plant in a big hopper and the fleshing is received in a tank. The pasteous waste materials with water content between 60 and 80% are fed to a drier, operated on steam generated by the process. The dried material is briquetted before it is conveyed to the gasifier. Pallets, plastic containers and other waste material from the tannery are shredded before it is fed to the process together with the mentioned briquettes.

The plant is designed to treat almost 2 tonnes of sludge per hour. The PyroArc plant is self-contained with all the needed energy generated from the waste. It also meets the tannery's requirements for hot water and steam, replacing more than 700.000 litres of fossil fuel per year. A gas engine makes the plant self sufficient with electric power and the surplus is covering parts of the tannery's electricity bill.

Operational Data:
Capacity of waste,60-80% water: 1930 kg/h
Total energy production of: 3,3 MW
Total energy consumption of : 1,5 MW
Energy delivered to the tannery: 1,8 MW
Production of slag and metal: 150 kg/h
